The Problem
During a dinner party in Ponsonby, an entire bottle of red wine was knocked off a coffee table onto a light cream, cut-pile synthetic carpet. The client immediately blotted the spill with towels but was left with a massive, dark purple stain in the center of the room.
Our Process
We arrived the following morning. Because the client had not applied any alkaline supermarket chemicals (which can permanently 'set' red wine dyes), the stain was highly treatable. We applied a specialized reducing agent specifically formulated for synthetic food dyes. We then applied targeted steam heat directly to the stain, which catalyzed the chemical reaction, causing the red dye to disappear visibly before flushing it with hot-water extraction.
The Result
The stain was 100% removed. There was no ghosting, no pink hue left behind, and the carpet pile was restored to its original state.
