The Problem
A homeowner in Remuera discovered that their new puppy had repeatedly urinated in the corner of their formal living room on an expensive, high-pile wool carpet. The homeowner had tried using supermarket stain removers, which only masked the smell temporarily and left a sticky residue that quickly turned dark grey as it attracted dirt.
Our Process
We began with a UV light inspection to map the exact extent of the urine contamination, which had spread further under the surface than visible to the naked eye. We applied a specialized bio-enzymatic treatment and allowed it a 30-minute dwell time to digest the uric acid crystals. We then utilized a sub-surface extraction tool (the 'water claw') to flush the carpet and the underlying foam pad without removing the carpet from the tack strips.
The Result
The dark, sticky residue was completely removed, restoring the natural softness of the wool. More importantly, the pungent ammonia smell was entirely neutralized, preventing the puppy from re-offending in the same spot.
